Welcome to the How to B Podcast with Brittany Reid

Episode #21 with Denell Nawrocki

Founder of Cervical Wellness

Denell Nawrocki is a health and healing educator, speaker, guide and facilitator specializing in women's wellness and Earth based health. She believes in the body's ability to regenerate, and guides women to connect to their bodies and find empowerment on the self healing path.

Since 2010, Denell has done extensive study in the fields of health, healing, personal transformation, indigenous wisdom, plant medicine, and history. All of this culminates in her mission to guide people to be in loving relationship with their body and Earth's body. She received her masters in Integrative Health Studies from California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).

The woman’s womb and yoni are sacred places. A woman’s cycle is a roadmap to what is happening in her body. Denell describes the structure of the cervix and the connection between it and our womb.

Essentially, the reproductive health of a woman is impacted by the external world. Therefore, it’s important that routines are put into place to support these sacred places. Denell shares her personal story of her cervical journey.

At a very young age, she would receive abnormal Pap smear results from the doctor's without any real explanation or support. She never felt empowered enough to question it.

When she realized the doctors weren’t helping her, she knew she had to figure this out by herself. From that moment on, she committed to honoring her body. She changed her entire lifestyle, from her friends, to her nutrition and how she was spending her time. This led her to dive deep into spiritual practices.

Three years into her lifestyle changes she received a phone call from her doctor stating that her Pap smears were clear and normal. She reversed her diagnosis without receiving conventional medical support.

This led her to notice how little women are taught about their reproductive health. Which was the catalyst to creating Cervical Wellness. She has packaged everything she learned about healing herself and now teaches others to do the same.

Here are a few key takeaways from this episode:

The cervix is a representation of both life and death.

All of the intelligence and wisdom that people seek outside of themselves can be found on the inside.

The cervix is where creativity lies.

It’s vital to honor the body, the reproductive health and the womb space.

Women hold a lot of energy in their pelvic bowl.

Kundalini Practices during Pregnancy

Kundalini & Pregnancy

Many of you that follow my journey and work with me know that Kundalini is a foundation to everything I do. It was a practice that landed into my physical space while I was living out in Vancouver many years ago. At first I was wondering what did I get myself into and why are we moving like this. But the feeling after class was like nothing I have ever experienced. Then the unravelling happened and I began to study and dive deeper into the teachings from Yogi Bhajan.

It is a beautiful practice to strengthen the nervous system and balance the endocrine system along with many other benefits. But specifically with pregnancy this practice can prepare your body, assist with letting go of fear, elevate your babies consciousness, and guide you through a journey of honouring the maiden to welcome in the mother.

Pregnancy is an initiation process for a woman. It’s a process of walking into the unknown, surrendering who you once thought you were, and welcoming in a more radiant and alive version of yourself. Pregnancy is sacred, beautiful, and transformational.

Here are a couple practices I’ve loved so far.

  1. Kirtan Kriya: For New Beginnings and welcoming in the first trimester and the little cosmos. By stimulating each finger tip as your chant allows your body to balance the electromagnetic projection of the aura and welcome in NEW. I find this meditation practice to be very calming and grounding.

    Chant Meaning:

    SAA: Infinity, cosmos, beginning

    TAA: Life, existence

    NAA: Death, change, transformation

    MAA: Rebirth

  2. Adi Shakti Meditation: We are having a little boy and a divine teacher recommended this practice to us for the month 6/7 as Yogi Bhajan called this time in pregnancy as a “acid bath”. Meaning a mixture of hormones that would program the man to become more of a hunter and gather in the primitive times freezing his intuitive/creative side so he could focus on his mission to gather and hunt. When the mantra is chanted the man is thought to become more creative and intuitive in many aspects of his life. Creating an aquarian man with both his natural hunter and gather instincts along with being highly intuitive and honouring his creative side. When women who are pregnant with girls chant this mantra it is thought to enhance their primal power of shakti energy to be aware of her destiny.

Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Namo, Namo
(I bow to the Primal Power)
Sarb Shakti, Sarb Shakti, Sarb Shakti, Namo, Namo
(I bow to the all-encompassing Power and Energy)
Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Namo, Namo
(I bow to that which God creates)
Kundalini Mata Shakti, Mata Shakti, Namo, Namo
(I bow to the creative power of the Kundalini, the Divine Mother Power)

“Adi Shakti is the Divine Mother, the primal, protective, and generating energy in the cosmos. Let us call on the Divine Mother, the Infinite, the powerful. Her jantra (symbolic form) is the two swords of God to protect you, the center of your world. These are the two-edged swords of the being, the negative and the positive. This is her being. This is her presence.”
–Yogi Bhajan 11/16/73

I am now 31 weeks pregnant today and will be embarking on meditations and practices that support and enhance the birth/labor of our little one. Working with my breath to move through the pressures and discomfort that will come with labor and embracing the energy that surrounds letting go and surrendering to this new chapter.

I’m curious if you practiced kundalini while you were pregnant? Are you pregnant and curious to see how kundalini can assist this journey for you and your little one? I’d love to connect at or comment below!

(disclaimer: please consult a medical physician or health care practitioner before adding/removing/trying practices. I am not a doctor or advising you to do anything. Although, this is what has been working well for me! xxx)

Luna Grace Isbell-Love || Welcoming the Uncomfortable

Welcome to How to B Podcast Episode #20 with Luna Love

Luna Grace Isbell-Love is a Woman of Devotion, a Soul Midwife, a Transformational Leadership Mentor and host of the podcast: Radical Remembrance. Essentially helping changemakers bring the sacred into their businesses.

Luna provides supportive, life-promoting experiences, practical tools, and spiritual wisdom while achieving clear vision with aligned action. She is devoted to social justice advocacy through council work and the dissolution of separation internally and externally. Most of all she is here to walk a path of beauty and grace.

At one point in her life, Luna had to lose herself to find herself. Suffering from unhealed grief and loss she wore a lot of masks to hide her feelings. What she realized was she didn’t have anyone to teach her how to cultivate her emotions during her childhood.

Luna developed this idea that feeling her feelings made her weak and susceptible to the dangers of the world. She found herself numbing herself with parties, promiscuity, and drugs to avoid the pain she felt inside.

But she soon realized the biggest part of her journey was learning how to feel. She finally understood she had to acknowledge the feelings, accept the feelings and then express the feelings fully.

Throughout this process of healing, she learned, even more, it wasn’t the drugs and alcohol that people are codependent on, but it’s also food and toxic relationships. When we recover and find those attachments to our personal identities leave we’re left wondering who we really are.

In the end, allowing herself to feel led her to her aligned purpose. Ultimately, when we feel our feelings it leads us to congruent actions. Alignment isn’t always happy because it can be deep grief or deep sadness. But one thing’s for sure, misalignment is a powerful ally because it shows us the way.

Takeaway from this episode:

Cultivating mindfulness helps us to get into self-awareness which is the path towards alignment.

Mindfulness leads us to welcome the feeling and give it permission to be here.

The shadow brings even more light.

It’s all just information to help guide us.

Be mindful in our business. There are red flags to show us that we’re out of alignment or incongruent with the type of services we’re providing and even the type of clients you serve.

It’s important to practice attunement in reference to our bodies. Our bodies will tell us things if we pause and listen to it.
